Company History
With roots going back to 1932, Stanley, Hunt, DuPree & Rhine was established as the result of the merger of two regional employee benefit consulting firms. — W. E. Stanley & Company of Greensboro, North Carolina and Hunt, DuPree, Rhine & Associates of Greenville, South Carolina.
SHDR became a subsidiary of Branch, Banking & Trust (BB&T) in 1998. In 2010, the two companies merged and SHDR became an operating division of BB&T. BB&T is one of America's largest financial holding companies and has been serving consumers and businesses since 1872. Along with its affiliated companies, BB&T offers a full range of financial products and services.
The combination of SHDR's tradition of client service and industry expertise and BB&T's corporate resources and state-of-the-art technology allows SHDR to provide companies with maximum flexibility in the selection and customization of employee benefit solutions.
